Second Demonstration!

Joe Reilly demonstrated Coptic Binding on Sunday at the Baird.

There was a lively discussion of the various types of coptic binding and the pros and cons of each as well as other aspects of binding. Whenever a group of book people gets together over a task like this you are likely to learn something new! I learned about using collapsible needles and how to keep from losing them.

  1. I guess I should have been there. What is a collapsible needle?

  2. It's used in beading and Joe says it's helpful when adding beading to a binding. It's like a very fine wire with a loop which can squish down when going through a narrow space unlike a needle.
